"Oh my! What kind of dog is that?"
"That is the most adorable little dog I have ever seen. Where can I get one?"
These are very common comments that we hear when we are out and about with our Mi-Ki's.
The Mi-Ki is an unbelievably precious dog that just melts your heart on sight. Most people haven't heard of the Mi-Ki breed, but once you have met one - you aren't likely to forget them. If you don't believe me, just try it!
We always explain to those who are interested in our little dogs, that the Mi-Ki is a "Rare Breed". By definition, that simply means that there aren't a lot of them and they are new enough that they aren't yet recognized by the AKC. I can tell you that these little dogs are so loveable that the breed is growing and we are working with the AKC to follow the map that they have laid out to get new breeds recognized.
Here are some of the highlights of the Mi-Ki breed. They are small little dogs and belong in the "Toy" group. They usually weigh between 5 and 7 pounds and come in any and all colors, with solids being more rare and thus more sought after. They have been bred for the purpose of being companions. They have sweet and loving personalities and are adaptable. They have hair, NOT fur so they don't shed like most dogs. They are smart and easily trained. Speaking of training, they can be potty trained to litter boxes, piddle pads, ringing a bell to go out, or using a doggy door to the yard. This makes them quite easy to travel with!
